YYY4 – Holes and other latent places

YYY is an experimental photographic zine and an exhibition concept where Katri Naukkarinen is active as both artist and curator. Each issue of the zine invites two photographic thinkers for a conversation about the content of the pages. Participating in the fourth issue are in addition to Naukkarinen, the artists Hallgerður Hallgrímsdóttir from Iceland and Linn Phyllis Seeger from Germany.

The photographer infinitely dances on the horizon, simultaneously looking inside and outside.
We cannot know the hole, we cannot touch the darkness.
Yet the cracks and folds invite us in, their gravity pulling at our vision.
Promising a lukewarm space free of stuff.
In my untellable dreams I become a window.
The perfect inbetween.

YYY4 er fjórða tölublað ljósmyndaritsins YYY sem gefið er út af listakonunni Katri Naukkarinen (FI) í samstarfi við tvo aðra listamenn hverju sinni. Ritið er unnið í sameiningu og þátttakendur verkefnisins velja myndir hvers annars og eiga í samtali um heildina um sundarskeið. Auk Katri og Hallgerðar tók listakonan Linn Phyllis Seeger (DE) þátt í útgáfunni.

Ljósmyndarinn dansar eilíflega á mörkunum, horfir samtímis innávið og útávið.
Það er ógerlegt að skilja holuna til fulls, myrkrið er ósnertanlegt. En hvilftirnar og raufirnar bjóða okkur velkomin, þyngdarafl óefnis þeirra er óviðjafnanlegt. Loforð liggur í loftinu. Um stað sem er bæði fyrir innan og fyrir utan.
Í óútskýrðum draumum er ég gluggi, hið fullkomna millibil.
